A professional who utilizes the nursing process to assess, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care activities. He/She has clinical and/or functional knowledge of the position for which he or she is accountable for either directly or indirectly through the delegation of tasks. Incumbent is accountable to the Clinical Director and is under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse on duty. Also, collaborates with other clinical associates to meet individual needs using communication and available resources to promote quality and cost-effective care.
Requirements:
Involved in planning and directing of care in relation to clinical objectives under the direct supervision of the registered nurse.
Ensures continuity of patient care. Gives a detailed report to the oncoming shift. Ensures that patient charting is accurate and indicative of each patient.
Maintains good working standards in accordance with state standards and administrative policies and affirms department philosophy and values.
Handles conflict in a manner which results in mutual acceptance.
Attends monthly meetings with manager.
Confers and consults with physicians and other health care providers to determine suitable methods of meeting departmental objectives and patient goals.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness within the department; keeps all areas, equipment, and supplies organized; maintains proper function of equipment.
Evaluates quantity and quality of work performance in a positive manner that encourages continuing or developing high quality and quantity output.
Works within the guidelines established under the license of the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nursing (LPN) and the scope of practice.
Promotes an environment in which personnel can work cooperatively and achieve potential for growth and improvement of performance.
Uses verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas in a positive, value-sensitive, respectful way.
Maintains an awareness of his or her impact on others in order to display a caring and sensitive approach to others.
Takes on any duties the Charge Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Clinical Director asks to help provide good customer service and help facilitate the needs of patients, associates, and physicians.
