The Registered Nurse has the responsibility and accountability for assessing patient/family health problems and resources, taking a leadership role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care provided by the nursing team. Providing technical nursing care and interventions to a designated patient population. Per the Departments Scope of Practice, this position requires providing services to Oncology Patients, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. It is expected that the associate demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The associate shall support the CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini?s strategic plan and the goals and direction of their Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). The Research Nurse is a professional person with knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas: Oncology nursing, data management, research documentation, program analysis, physical assessment skills and communications skills. The incumbent will be responsible for research program development, consent management, outcomes, and cost analysis. Responsibilities include but are not limited to time management, hospital registration into new studies, data collection and analysis, data preparation and submission, lab collection and processing, patient follow-up, records management, organization and prioritization of workload, obtaining medical records for data abstraction, quality assurance management, maintenance of patient confidentiality, other activities related to research and grant application / follow up processing.
Requirements:
Knowledge and skills acquired in a basic nursing education program.
Graduate of an accredited RN school of Nursing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
English required, bilingual (English/Spanish; English/French) preferred.
Training in Protecting Human Research Participants
Training for shipping of Category B Infectious Substances & Dry Ice
Knowledge of computers and general office equipment (fax, copier, EMR, centrifuge)
Three years recent experience preferred.
Current Louisiana RN License.
Current BLS Card.
